The great Jacques Anquetil dominated the Tour de France from the late 1950s through the early 60s, with 5 overall victories. A master of the individual time trial, and a very astute tactician, he was a very cool and calculating champion. He was also a shameless bon vivant, often joining his blond wife for champagne even during the Tour. Besides the Tour Anquetil was a winner of classics, the Giro, the Vuelta, and held the Hour record.
