Raleigh is a well-known British brand with a checkered past. During the 1940s and 50s they built high-end racing frames, and sponsored the top British rider of the era, the sprinter Reg Harris. He won the World title as an amateur, and a couple of Olympic silver medals, before turning pro and going on to win the World title four times. This drawing is an early 50s Raleigh sprint bike, with a steel frame, and an inch-pitch chain and sprockets.
